On August 8, 2025, the China Stone Association successfully held a seminar on artificial stone standards in Zaozhuang, Shandong Province. This meeting focused on discussing the revision of two standards, namely "Technical Specifications for the Production Process of Resin-based Artificial Stone" and "Technical Regulations for the Application of Resin-based Artificial Stone", as well as the compilation of "Food-Grade Quartz Stone Countertop Panels". More than 20 people attended the meeting, including Sun Weixing, secretary-general of the China Stone Association, Zhou Junxing, secretary-general of the National Stone Standardization Technical Committee, Zhai Jiye, Secretary-General of the Unsaturated Polyester Resin Branch of the China Synthetic Resin Association, Nie Yanzhen, secretary-general of the Shandong Stone Industry Association, relevant experts from the Artificial Stone Technical Committee, and representatives of participating enterprises. Lu Xudong, General Manager of Fangxin Resin, also participated in this meeting. The meeting was presided over by Tian Jing, the secretary-general of the Artificial Stone Specialized Committee of the China Stone Association, and the standard discussion session was chaired by Secretary-General Zhou Junxing.

Li Yong, the director of the Artificial Stone Technology Committee of the China Stone Association and the deputy general manager and chief engineer of Guangdong Zhongqi New Materials Co., LTD., gave a detailed interpretation of the revised contents of the "Technical Specifications for the Production Process of Resin-based Artificial Stone" and the "Technical Regulations for the Application of Resin-based Artificial Stone". Yan Faxiang, the chief engineer of Guangzhou Golandi New Materials Co., LTD., introduced the formulation ideas and main contents of the "Food-grade Quartz Stone Countertop Panel" standard from the dimensions of market demand and technical indicators. The experts and enterprise representatives attending the meeting, based on the production and market conditions, put forward practical and valuable suggestions and opinions for revision, starting from ensuring the scientificity, standardization and timeliness of the standards and improving their quality.

In his concluding remarks, Secretary-General Sun Weixing pointed out that despite the current challenges faced by the industry, such as an unfavorable market environment, enterprises should still maintain their confidence in development. He emphasized that formulating and improving industry standards, enhancing product quality and technological levels, is the key for enterprises to cope with market fluctuations and achieve long-term development. Standardization work not only helps to regulate market order, but also promotes the overall competitiveness of the industry, laying a solid foundation for its healthy development.

The relevant standards will be further revised and improved in light of the opinions and suggestions from this meeting as well as the written feedback from experts and industry enterprises that were absent.
